Eating out, take your choice. have a relaxing and leisurely BBQ on Carna or at Laga overlooking the loch or take your pick of the local eateries around the peninsula. Salen Jetty Shop, Loch shiel Hotel where you can enjoy good food and regular music sessions. The Salen Hotel has good food in a convivial atmosphere. Acharacle Tea Room offers gorgeous homemade lunches, cakes and teas. In Strontian Kate at The Ariundle Centre is an ideal place to call in after a walk in the Ariundle Oak Woods Here you will find good wholesome home made food, local arts & crafts and a fabulous wool and knitting shop.
In Strontian village good food, music and a warm welcome can be found at The Strontian Hotel and Bothy Bar, Kilcamb Lodge Hotel and The Ben Vue Hotel

Meanwhile at the westerly end of the peninsula Kilchoan Hotel, Kilchoan Community Centre, Sonachan Hotel, and at the most westerly point in the UK Ardnamurchan Lighthouse.

Visit Castle Tioram Built in the 13th century by the Clanranalds Castle Tioram (pronounced cheerum) is now a magnificent ruin and well worth a visit. There is a lovely sandy beach for picnics and swimming in summer.

Fantastic Scenery
We stayed for a week 3rd to 10th August 2013 at Laga Bay. Apart from staying at a fabulous cottage overlooking Loch Sunart, we had a fantastic boat trip with Tom (and Dexter his black lab) from Ardnamurchan Charters. Starting at Laga Bay we went out to Cairns of Coll to see harbour porpoises, many seals, followed by 8 basking sharks, 2 Minke Whales and various birds, on the way to Muck. The weather was great and a lunch in the Cairns of Coll, with its turquoise blue clear waters and inquisitive seals was one of the highlights. Andy (Tom's dad) also took us on an interesting trip up and down the Loch including Carna. Stunning part of world and great boat trips to be had. Tony, August 2013

A truly magical and fantastic holiday location
We have to give a very special thank you to Andy, Allison, Tom, Graeme et al and to Tag, Spider and Hendrix (the dogs) for making our stay so pleasurable. Lucy our Labrador is missing all the attention from her doggy friends. The fishing on Loch Sunnart was absolutely superb. The pioneer boats are superb to fish from even in a choppy sea, exceptionally well equipped with everything you might need when out on the water, from safety equipment to deep water anchor. We also had 2 truly fantastic days fishing from Laurenca II with Graeme and Tom (Graeme next year we will get that Skate). The soup that Andy makes for the boat trips on Laurenca is truly delightful. If only I could get the recipe! The wildlife is also amazing from seeing the herons, eagles, Porpoises swimming right beside the pioneer boat and the otters running along the shore beside the pontoon - a truly spectacular sight. We cannot wait to return to Laga lodge next year. We loved the holiday so much that I booked it before we left. Robert has never stopped talking about his week’s holiday. It was definitely a very memorable week. Wonderful day with self drive boat
We set off into Loch Sunart after very clear and helpful intructions on how to drive the boat and safety intructions to look at the wild life and fish. The 3 of us had an amazing day, saw lots of birds and caught a mackeral. The most amazing thing, which is often the case in Scotland was the light. We had 4 seasons weather, rainbows, mist and sun all giving extraordinary light and views. The trip was advertised as disabled access but so many aren't even if advertised as such, getting on with the tide in was fine then getting off at low tide day could have been tricky but the day was truely complete when they pulled the boat in by tractor and i walked off on dry land! Most wonderful people and most wonderful trip. Chris F. June 2014
