Stormy skies over Laga Bay

Stormy skies over Laga Bay

Whilst it's been a lovely sunny day today we've had some very changeable weather this summer to say the least! But one advantage of "weather" is the fantastic light and cloud formations that happen. This sky and cloud came over the loch last week and was ...

Wonderful day with self drive boat
We set off into Loch Sunart after very clear and helpful intructions on how to drive the boat and safety intructions to look at the wild life and fish. The 3 of us had an amazing day, saw lots of birds and caught a mackeral. The most amazing thing, which is often the case in Scotland was the light. We had 4 seasons weather, rainbows, mist and sun all giving extraordinary light and views. The trip was advertised as disabled access but so many aren't even if advertised as such, getting on with the tide in was fine then getting off at low tide day could have been tricky but the day was truely complete when they pulled the boat in by tractor and i walked off on dry land! Most wonderful people and most wonderful trip. Chris F. June 2014

A truly magical and fantastic holiday location
We have to give a very special thank you to Andy, Allison, Tom, Graeme et al and to Tag, Spider and Hendrix (the dogs) for making our stay so pleasurable. Lucy our Labrador is missing all the attention from her doggy friends. The fishing on Loch Sunnart was absolutely superb. The pioneer boats are superb to fish from even in a choppy sea, exceptionally well equipped with everything you might need when out on the water, from safety equipment to deep water anchor. We also had 2 truly fantastic days fishing from Laurenca II with Graeme and Tom (Graeme next year we will get that Skate). The soup that Andy makes for the boat trips on Laurenca is truly delightful. If only I could get the recipe! The wildlife is also amazing from seeing the herons, eagles, Porpoises swimming right beside the pioneer boat and the otters running along the shore beside the pontoon - a truly spectacular sight. We cannot wait to return to Laga lodge next year. We loved the holiday so much that I booked it before we left. Robert has never stopped talking about his week’s holiday. It was definitely a very memorable week. Best wishes and we look forward to seeing you next October and if we can before then - Alasdair, Liz, Robert , Mary (Granny) and Lucy the dog woof woof regular annual visitors to Laga Lodge

Fantastic Scenery
We stayed for a week 3rd to 10th August 2013 at Laga Bay. Apart from staying at a fabulous cottage overlooking Loch Sunart, we had a fantastic boat trip with Tom (and Dexter his black lab) from Ardnamurchan Charters. Starting at Laga Bay we went out to Cairns of Coll to see harbour porpoises, many seals, followed by 8 basking sharks, 2 Minke Whales and various birds, on the way to Muck. The weather was great and a lunch in the Cairns of Coll, with its turquoise blue clear waters and inquisitive seals was one of the highlights. Andy (Tom's dad) also took us on an interesting trip up and down the Loch including Carna. Stunning part of world and great boat trips to be had. Tony, August 2013
