seasonal reflections

It's been a busy summer here on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula but now winter is upon us and there is time to look back but also plan for the future.
We've met lots a lovely and interesting people from all over the world coming to stay in Laga Lodge and on the Island of Carna as well as everyone who has been on a boat trip with Andy or hired a self drive boat. It's fascinating to hear stories and tales from lives so different to ours.
We've had amazing encounters with Minke whales, Bottle nose and Common dolphins, Common and Grey seals, Harbour porpoise, White-tailed eagles and Golden Eagles, Pine Martens and of course our local, thriving community of otters. Plus a myriad of other wildlife, stags roaring (and eating the plants in the garden!) sea birds galore in beautiful, unspoilt scenery.
It would be hard to find a place more beautiful or with such abundant wildlife anywhere in the world. The lichens and mosses, ancient oakwoods, white sand beaches are beautiful at any time of year, whether it's wild and blustery or sunshine and blue skies, it's a pleasure and a thrill to be out and about here on Ardnamurchan.
We're busy now servicing boats and getting on with all the workshop jobs that have been building up over the summer months but also planning next years activities.
